I have started a few weeks ago and played on and off. I never really got beyond a few weeks, before I started a new game, although I intend to try this weekend to really start a serious playthrough, where I accept mistakes made. Of course given my apparent lack of attention span..cross my fingers.
It has some similarities to Stardew Valley, a game that I am rather fond of: Farming, if so far not in a very big style, other character to befriend, fishing (much easier, as far as I can tell), cooking/baking, smithying, taking care of animals. Lots of exploration.
It is fun and I like the other characters. They are rather quirky and I strongly suspect, there will be a lot of laughter, as I get to know them better.
There is exploring and finding out, how to do just about everything. Yesterday I learned, how to use the oven and I rode a pig for the first time. Wow.. I got around a LOT faster. Speaking of pigs: I found a bucket to scoop up poo (coming soon), fertilizer I suppose? So far the bucket serves to hold honey or water, so it has its uses.
Given the understandable lack of a well-filled Wiki much time is wasted spend simply running around. Again yesterday I rescued a cat and got the follow-up task of feeding it. I just can't find the critter. I get the impression, that this is a game, where it is going to be really important to just let things slide and if neccessary decide to cure your father another day, while trying to find that one character, that wanted a cooked meal delivered in a specific time frame. Priorities. *cough*
Combat will feature as well, but I have not gotten so far.
I caught insects in jars, but have no idea, what they are good for.
There are a LOT of people to get to know, with their own relationships, tastes in gifts etc., considerably more than in Stardew Valley or Portia and all over the map. Remembering who lives where is going to be a problem and of course everybody has their own schedules. Luckily there are maps, that have to be unlocked first though, so I can in theory lie in wait until my target returns home.
Similar to 'My Time in Portia' and 'Stardew Valley' you get forcibly sent to bed when you are out too late. So far there does to be no penalty though and your sibling provides you with an ingame explanation, that I won't spoil.
I am definitely looking forward to getting to know this game and would love to hear other peoples opinions, if you have given it a try.
