Banished Colonial Charter

Banished: Colonial Charter question - tradable goodsPosted by Swoopin on 2/22/16 at 10:22 am
For those familiar with the Colonial Charter mod for Banished, wanted to get your input.
I'm clicking like I never have before by unleashing the firewood industry and trading for materials such as stone, iron & coal. However, despite placing saw mills, houses, stockpiles, markets etc in my lumber areas, I'm seeing a declining efficiency in my firewood output than in previous times playing.
I started really redesigning my forester & sawmill communities and couldn't get it to the output level I wanted and had seen before.
I'm sure its fixable, but my question is- are there any good alternatives to firewood for trading? An industry you prefer that would have similar or better trade output per person as firewood?
Think it'd be fun to try something else out, didn't know if you guys had any favorite way to churn out tradable goods. Was contemplating doing clothing because I have beaucoup leather & wool output to make peacoats, but wanted to see if that would come close to matching a best-case-scenario firewood output, on a number of workers basis.

I've seen videos where they've exploited a commodity that was unusual. Just search around for that!

I've used apiaries/chandlers to make candles for trading. Those go for 8 each. I've also used mass carvers to make wood statues out of logs that sell for 48(?) each. These are how I tried to stock up my traders.
I've also seen that you can mass shore houses to get sand/clay that trades 1:1. Not sure if they're fast enough though.
